Girl Dinner is a slang term that gathered traction in mid-2023 when TikToker Olivia Maher posted a video showing her simple uncooked meal for dinner, referencing medieval peasants and her reluctance to cook or reheat food. Today, it’s a viral term not only for cis-women or young girls, but rather a casual gathering featuring quality ingredients, and the simplicity of letting these ingredients speak for themselves.
Bad Times Records will be featuring our own ‘Girl Dinner’, featuring Sourdough is Life (@sourdoughislife), natural wines that we are stocking, and vintage glassware and tableware sourced from Hong Kong. We will make sure that the portions are not ‘girl portions’, and focus on creating an engaging and welcoming dinner party atmosphere in the shop, soundtracked to records of course.
