Technics SL-1200/SL-1210 Toroidal Transformer Upgrade / Voltage Conversion
This upgrade replaces the antique laminated-core transformer in your SL-1200/SL-1210 with a modern toroidal transformer to improve the sound quality. It is compatible with all SL-1200/SL-1210 models up to the MK5(G). Japanese and American 120V single-voltage models can also be converted to run on 230V.

Advantages of this modification:
- The modern toroidal transformer is precisely sized to ensure consistent output power, even in the most demanding situations.
- It generates less mechanical vibration, reducing the turntable’s noise floor.
- The radiated magnetic field is significantly reduced, lowering magnetic noise pickup by the cartridge.
- Japanese models (protected only by a secondary-side fuse) will receive a 2nd fuse on the primary side of the transformer for improved electrical protection.
- Optional: 120V models can be converted to 230V and then operated directly from a Hong Kong outlet without an external transformer.
