We are so excited to be back on the STEPS this Saturday April 11, at our new home La Cabane Wine Cellar, with a great new lineup for you. This is the absolute last Steps party for the season; we normally only do 3 editions per season but our last March edition was so successful, we convinced La Cabane to let us do one more. So even though the weather is a tiny little bit hotter, please do come on out because we are bringing back Steps by popular demand and especially ahead of Record Store Day!
This time, we are welcoming a couple of new names to the lineup. Roy Malig is one of the city's veterans, a literal walking encyclopedia of music knowledge and a former record store owner himself. On the newer side, we are bringing a new young talent to the decks, Melo, already a familiar face at BTD parties and the record store. Justroc, founder of the ROCKDANCE 852 crew and a great rockdancer, had so much fun last time that he's requested to come back. Last but not least, Ani Phoebe will be closing out the day, playing her favorite records directly from the store's crates. Please come up to the second floor of the wine cellar and ask for track IDs and chat with the DJs :)
This time, La Cabane will be providing the snacks at STEPS, offering a special pop up menu of meatball snacks, with a veggie option also available!
As always, you'll be able to listen to the records using our player inside, dig through all of our (updated and restocked!) crates, ask us for specific recommendations, and try some new bottles of natural wine at La Cabane.
For those of you who also follow and attend our sister project Bad Times Disco, and are looking for a more adventurous dancefloor, you should definitely come to the last BTD of the season on May 16 which is in a brand new secret location in East Kowloon (MTR accessible). As you all know, BTD only does 4 parties a season (apparently, just like Steps), and each one takes place in a different secret location around Hong Kong. These parties are known for their ACTUAL dancefloor, a really fun crowd that really gets into it, custom set design, considered and high quality sound, and leftfield lineups focusing on the B-side of electronic dance music history.
If you have been to Bad Times Disco at least once already this season (Circle Back, NYE, Scam City), you can get a special Community discount ticket to the Season Closing. If you've been to all three parties, we'll put you on guestlist!
